Current Music: Some sort of classical stuff my boss has on.
So Saturday afternoon a good friend of mine got married and I was invited, which sort of surprised me (sketchily in touch exes not generally being the top invites to weddings) but, in retrospect, we were friends through much of high school and college, and we were even roommates for a year. Her husband is a really nice guy and I was happy to see them get hitched, even if it did rain, sadly.
After the wedding I went over to my uncle's for his 55th birthday and it was fun-we don't usually get together with my dad's side of the family, but, it was very nice. I hope to go shooting with one or both of my uncles soon. We were also given gun locks for (I guess they're all mine now) the rifles and shotgun, which is important now that Instant Nephew (TM) is around now.
After the party I watched the part of Anaconda that I had previously slept through. Hoo boy. What a bunch of junk. If you get the chance and want to watch a laughably bad monster movie, I recommend Anaconda-between the effects and Jon Voight's "acting" you'll have quite a few laughs.
Last night I had some odd dreams-the part I remember best was that Stalwart Dan(!) was running a role-playing game, some sort of White Wolf superhero thing. I wasn't going to play but then decided to, and I was playing this guy in a Ramones outfit, essentially, but with a fedora. He carried an SMG and two pistols but also had vaguely defined "lightening" powers. Even my subconcious knew this was just an uncreative mashing together of my first two Champions characters, Voltage and Wolf (one carried guns, the other was an Elctro rip-off). Easily the oddest element was the fact that *Dan* was running a roleplaying game. |
